The avocado was well known to the Aztecs and the indigenous peoples of Central America, who used it in cosmetics to protect their faces from drying winds. Legend has it that the indigenous people also used it on their hair to promote growth. Avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the avocado fruit. This oil is traditionally used for its skin-softening and protective properties. It has also been shown to promote cell regeneration (the oil is used in anti-wrinkle preparations). The skin's elasticity is improved after regular use of this oil.

Botanical
Native to Central America, the avocado belongs to the Lauraceae family. Its cultivation has spread throughout tropical and subtropical regions (Kenya, etc.). More than 200 varieties are known. The avocado tree grows to a height of 5 to 15 meters. This tree is very commonly cultivated, and several species are commercially available. Its trunk is covered with grayish, fissured bark, and its crown is broad and bushy. Its leaves are evergreen, simple, oval, and glossy dark green. The seed is a large brown pit. Both the fruit and the leaves are used. Avocado oil is extracted from the fruit of the avocado tree. The pulp (60 to 75% of the fruit) has a remarkably high oil content (5 to 30% depending on the variety), while the avocado kernel contains very little oil (< 2%).
Manufacturing
ECOCert & Organic Fair Trade
The avocados are sorted, cleaned, and chilled for seven days. Washed a second time, the skin and pit are separated from the fruit pulp. The pulp is then crushed and blended. The oil is extracted using a centrifuge and then decanted at 15°C.
